This year our team was once again headed by Dr. Jennifer Martino.
Dr. Martino, who teaches Honors and AP Physics C at Governor Livingston
High School, received her bachelor’s degree from the College
of St. Elizabeth in Morristown and her M.S. and Ph.D. from Rutgers
University, where her research focused on computational molecular
biophysics.
Our team this year was composed of students from grades nine through
twelve. This year’s seniors included Benjamin N., Gregory
P., Neha K., Yuming S., Amy R., and Kalyan V. Juniors included Eric
L., Rini M., Sean W., and Jay T. Sophomores were Veena V. and Pedro
N. The lone freshmen on this year’s team was Chris C.
Because of the project's topic, our team gained a greater understanding
regarding the complexities of protecting workers in the most adverse
of conditions. We realized that many of the technologies needed
to protect these workers were already in place but were waiting
to be implemented and coordinated.

Our group made extensive use of technology to collaborate research
done at different times, in addition to calling regular meetings.
This helped teach valuable teamwork skills to our team. A screenshot
of the Yahoo Groups archive of the group's e-mails is shown above.
